                        Smooth muscle actin (porcine) contains a mixture of ~80% gamma and ~20% 
                        alpha smooth muslce actin. Actin is a single chain polypeptide with a molecular 
                        weight of 42kD consisting of 375 amino acids. The typical polymerization and 
                        depolymerization properties were compared with skeletal muscle actin in  
                        fluorimetrical analyses (see product images). By mixing both actins with 10% 
                        pyrene actin (rabbit skeletal muscle actin) different kineticsare observed.
