Rat Embryo Paraffin Sections
Zyagen offers high quality rat whole embryo paraffin sections at different stages of pregnancy from E12 to E20 in
sagittal oreintation. Pregnancy is precisely determined by observation of vaginal plug. Plug date is considered day one of
gestation. Sagittal sections are made close to the midline of each embryo so most major embryonic tissues/organs are
shown in each section. Embryos are fixed in 4% paraformeldehyde or 10% neutral buffered formalin, embedded in
paraffin blocks, sectioned at a thickness of 5-7microns and mounted on positively charged slides (2-3 sections per slide).
Tissue sections are routinely made of Sprague Dawley rat embryos but we also can make tissue sections of other rat
strains (inbred, outbred, mutant, hybrid, transgenic) upon request..
Paraffin sections are shipped in tightly closed slide boxes or slide mailers at room temperature and are good for one year if properly stored.
Applications: Paraffin tissue sections are prepared in RNase-, protease-free environment and are ideal for
immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization.
